From start to finish, it was a fun-filled celebration that brought smiles, laughter, and a whole lot of joy to our students, staff, and of course, Mrs. Tompkins herself.
We loved seeing everyone get in on the excitement and creativity. It truly made for a memorable week!

Mrs. Bell’s 2nd graders had a fantastic time getting creative with chalk pastels!
After a Mystery Science lesson where they discovered that pandas eat only bamboo, students brought their learning to life through art. Using careful circles and ovals, they created their very own adorable chalk pastel pandas!
We love seeing our Wolves combine science and creativity in such a fun way! 🐺🎨

🌟💛 Superstar of the Week! 💛🌟 This week we are celebrating Mrs. Valdez, our amazing instructional facilitator! 📚✨ Mrs. Valdez works tirelessly behind the scenes to support both staff and students through interventions, thoughtful lesson planning, and helping strengthen reading instruction across our school. She is always full of creative ideas and is eager to jump in and help wherever she’s needed. 💛 Her passion for student success truly shines in everything she does. And we can’t forget — she is hands down the best dressed person in the building! 👗✨ We are so grateful to have Mrs. Valdez as part of our Westwood family! 🌟

On Wednesday, our teachers explored new strategies to support our multilingual learners from the ELLevation platform. The learning didn’t stop there. By Friday, Mrs. Vang had already put one of those strategies into action in her classroom… and as she said, “the rest was magic!"
We love seeing professional learning turn into real classroom impact so quickly. Way to go, Mrs. Vang and class!

After reading Creepy Carrots, our students brought the story to life in the most creative way!
In art class, they designed adorable carrot collages inspired by the book. From spooky to silly, each piece showed off their imagination and hard work. We love seeing literacy and creativity come together.

This week we are proud to celebrate Mrs. Abbott, our amazing Library Aide and Instructional Assistant! 📚✨ Mrs. Abbott does an incredible amount of behind-the-scenes work that keeps our school running smoothly — from organizing the library and keeping up with lamination to checking in on teachers for copies and even much-needed bathroom breaks. Her versatility and genuine care for our school community truly stand out. She steps in as an interpreter during parent-teacher conferences, helping families feel supported and heard, and she brings that same dedication to her work with students. 💛 Mrs. Abbott creates thoughtful, engaging intervention activities because she is truly invested in each child’s success. Recently, she even partnered with our CSSO, Mr. Ranger, to plan activities connected to a book her group had just finished! 📖👏 We are so grateful for all the ways Mrs. Abbott supports our students and staff — she is truly a vital part of our Westwood family! 🌟

Last Tuesday was a hole-in-one for our Pack 2.0 Fitness Club!
Students had the exciting opportunity to practice long-range golf while building confidence and teamwork. Through our amazing partnership with First Tee, they not only learned new golf skills but also strengthened important character traits like respect, perseverance, and integrity.
We’re so proud of our Wolves for giving it their all and growing both on and off the course!
